What an amazing privilege it is for Victoria and me to lead this ministry. To this day, I am in awe of the miracles He has performed and the favor He has shown us.
I want to thank you for investing so generously in this ministry. We are grateful for your support and consider you a part of our family.
I want to share with you some very important decisions we must make in the next few days and give you an update on our giving.
For each of the last nine years we have experienced up to 25% growth in our annual income. Based on that history, we projected a modest increase for 2008 of $5 million.
However, with growing concerns about the economy, our income is not reaching the levels we anticipated.
This past week our leadership team carefully reviewed the remaining budget for 2008. If we do not receive these much-needed funds, we will be forced to make cutbacks in several
ministry areas including our television outreach that takes God’s message of unconditional love and unending hope all around the world.
I believe now, more than ever, people need hope.
Even in the midst of this current challenge, we’ve seen the impact of our ministry grow to new levels. Our television ministry is reaching record numbers. It is consistently
rated the number one inspirational program in the country. Just a couple of weeks ago our free weekly Podcast was the 3rd most popular Podcast in the world — more than Meet the Press, HBO or Oprah Winfrey.
God’s Word is alive, and it is in challenging times like these, when pressures seem to be coming from every direction, that people most need to hear that God cares. They need to hear God has a great plan for their lives.
Victoria and I are committed to moving forward to reach more people than ever with the hope found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I don’t believe it
is His plan for us to slow down when the need and the opportunity are so great.
I’ve always been careful about how we raise funds for our ministry. But I feel compelled to share this situation with the part of our family that I believe cares so deeply and can make the greatest impact.
I am excited to tell you that $2 million has already been committed of the total funds needed. So I want to ask you to pray, seek God and ask Him how you can help meet our remaining goal of $3 million.
Victoria and I cannot do this alone. We need your help if we are to accomplish all that the Lord has set before us. I pray you will join with us to make a
difference in the lives of individuals and families who so desperately need God’s message of hope in this hour.
Exciting days are ahead. God has incredible things in store for those who are investing in His kingdom here at home and around the world. Thank you for listening.
